Great pack for multi-day ski or climbing trips, April 20, 2009 By Steve (Seattle) - See all my reviews This review is from: Osprey Aether 60 Mountaineering Backpack (Sports) I bought this pack for ski touring and I love it. It carried the load well for a 3 night / 4 day trip, even when loaded up with skis also for some spots of steep climbing. We had to walk out on a very rough trail 1,000 ft at the end of our trip. Features I appreciated:-
- Adjustable torso length for shoulder straps (my previous Arcteryx pack did not have this).
- Side pockets which fit SIG water bottles really well and make them accessible without opening the pack.
- Good sized top pocket.
- Shovel pocket big enough for shovel, probe, skins.
- Straps on bottom of pack allowed me to attached the tent to the outside of the pack, making it quickly accessible when we reached camp and keeping the interior of the pack dry.
The most important thing though is it carried the load really well. I'd checked out many packs and I'm really glad I bought this one.
